Centering Prayer Introductory Seminar

Centering Prayer is a receptive method of Christian silent prayer that prepares us to receive the gift of contemplative prayer, a prayer in which we experience God’s presence within us, closer than breathing, closer than thinking, closer than consciousness itself.

The method of Centering Prayer will be presented and time allowed for practice of the prayer.  Come and discover the meaning of, “Be still and know that I am God,” Psalm 46.

When: Saturday, October 11, from 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. (light lunch included). Four weekly follow-up sessions will occur on a day and time determined by group consensus.

Where: Fredericksburg United Methodist Church (Rooms 1 & 2), 1800 N. Llano St., Fredericksburg, TX.

Registration is required. Call the church office at (830)997-5762 or use this form.

Cost: Love offering.

Attendees are encouraged to purchase a copy of Open Mind, Open Heart, 20th Anniversary Edition by Fr. Thomas Keating in advance. A limited number of books will be available for purchase on site.
