Lord, Teach Us to Pray
When Jesus’ disciples asked him to teach them to pray, he gave them one “simple” prayer, “The Lord’s Prayer.”
This prayer proves to be the pathway to the Source of life and strength for those who long for a deeper communion with the Partners who are God. By the end of the retreat, we will know, perhaps as never before, why Jesus gave this one particular prayer. It’s the prayer he lived.
Sponsored by The Daughters of the King, this women’s retreat is open to all ages and gives us the chance to invite friends in and outside our community.
Together we will move slowly through each petition of the Lord’s Prayer with brief teaching, guided meditation, and live acoustic music.
Saturday, April 25, 2026, 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (lunch included) in the St. Barnabas Parish Hall
Led by the Rev. Stephen Kinney, PhD, and the Rev. Karen Poidevin
Music provided by Joshua Dodds, PhD – singer/songwriter in an intimate Americana/folk style
All women are warmly invited to come, to rest, and to let Jesus answer the disciples’ ancient request, “Lord, teach us to pray,” in the very particular contours of your own life today.
